*hits the blunt* yugioh was propaganda because the season they opened the anime with in the US started by making you pity yugi for losing his exodia cards in like, the second episode i think it was. basically this fuck has a huge unfair advantage over everyone else in the world and is planning to use it to win a cash tournament. but you’re supposed to feel bad for him when he loses that advantage and ends up on an even playing field because the cards are “his property”. exodia is capital and yugi moto is the bourgeoisie

wetorturedsomefolks

and kids are meant to think “wow id hate it if i had exodia and i lost it. i could have exodia someday so for some reason i empathize with that situation” it’s literally capital

myselfie

Luke ur literally misreading this entire fucking thing cuz kaiba is literally a fucking CEO and he’s the villain. this show is anticapitalist…yugi losing the exodia cards is actually about how the proletariat loses the true value of their labor under the surplus theory of value

marxism-leninism-utenaism

ok listen up though yugi literally gets possessed by the spirit of a pharaoh and inherited the exodia cards from his grandfather they are clearly a metaphor for the divine right of kings under feudalism and weevil is the bourgeois revolutionaries overthrowing feudalism. only joey wheeler, the true hero of the proletariat, can

Does the manga count because I’d love to see how Joey getting tortured to the brink of death by his former gang fits into this

derinthescarletpescatarian

#yugioh#joey gets tortured to the brink of death???#hello???#what chapter is that#do you have a PDF

Yeah they string him up and start tasing him until he can’t scream any more (because he’s lost coordination enough that he can’t breathe properly) and Yami shows up to save him with one of his death games and electrocutes them all to death

Which makes them some of Yami’s more deserving victims, this guy once exploded a high school senior for poaching a table that Yugi’s class wanted to use for the school fair. At least these guys were committing murder.

I’m trying to find the panels but googling variations of “jounouchi being tortured” isn’t bringing up anything relevant (RIP my search history). I didn’t dream this storyline did I? Can some yu-gi-oh fan get in here and tell me my brain didn’t make this up?

tanelorn8615

I skimmed through some of the manga and while I didn’t see that exact scene Jounouchu was badly beaten at least twice, once by a fellow student who claimed to be protecting Yugi from him and Honda (and consequently was the Pharaoh’s first victim) and later by a group stealing his fancy sneakers.

Edit: Naturally I found it right after writing that, it’s Chapter 12: The Wild Gang (part 2). The same story established that Jounouchu’s father is an abusive drunk, so yeah, coming mostly from the anime Id not realized just how rough his life was in the original >_<

I KNEW IT WAS REAL

Thank you

It’s so stupid that the Supreme Court has to “make a decision” on whether or not a business can choose not to provide services for LGBTQIA+ customers due to religious reasons

Like that is discrimination, no ifs, ands, or buts about it, which isn’t allowed, like full stop, so right there, done deal case over

Plus like with all the publicity, the woman in question is now EXTREMELY unlikely to receive such requests at all because why support someone who so publicly made it clear she hates you and wants you to not exist

But what makes it even more ABSOLUTELY FUCKING RIDICULOUS is that apparently the key piece of evidence in the case, a case going on 6 years here, was determined 100% to be false

The guy in question has a wife who he’s been married to for 15 years and figures someone just got his info online and falsified the whole thing, no one had contacted him before now and so he had no idea about any of it

Colorado apparently alerted the Supreme Court ahead of time that there was something hinkey with it, but were apparently ignored

The request came like 24 hours after the suit was first filed, I’d be unsurprised if the woman or someone connected to her generated it to help support her case

This whole thing is bullshit and should not be allowed to come through, let alone decided in her favor

Building a company is weird.

Your client contracts can be shaky until you find an established base of people who can trust you to make their projects --

-- and for our work, our private non-store work is 100% vanity projects... so... the minute someone starts tightening belts, we're an easy expense to let go of.

Your vendors ignore you and take advantage of you until you find new ones that won't. This takes awhile. It costs a small fortune until it doesn't. There isn't a clear path from "it costs a small fortune" until "it no longer does."

It's hard to explain what you do for a living.

You regularly have to gently correct people "yes this is, in fact, a real job"

"Yes I am aware that mail volume has been steadily declining for decades. Specifically though you are thinking about bills, advertisements, and invoices. There is a market for spooky stationery."

"How do I know? I have thoroughly detailed, researched, proven in the field, plan."

"Yes, I know it is a risk. Yes I am aware of the price of failure. No, I do not want to reconsider."

(etc.)

From 2012 when I started Evil Supply Co. and began pivoting into this space, through the very writing of this post, and all the plans going forward:

This is the greatest adventure I've ever personally undergone.

I love it desperately.

Among the many ways to smooth out the countless bumps that come with this job is "Here is a pile of cash. Let's make ice cream and watch bad movies."

If you have any interest in running a business, I hope you do.

If you do not, I hope you find a hobby that builds your soul the way this shop start up is building mine.

Okay enough rambling it's time to go to the store before the rain hits.
